Display a Web Page at Raspberry Pi Startup

Context

I developed a website for booking training rooms.
To make life easier for learners, I built a page designed to be displayed on a TV, showing the upcoming or ongoing training sessions along with the room name.

Drawback

The building’s TV isn’t Wi-Fi compatible, so I used a Raspberry Pi.
To keep things simple, I wanted it to display the site’s page in full screen as soon as it boots.

Raspberry Pi 3

Install Chromium if it isn’t already installed:

sudo apt install chromium-browser

To launch the browser on the right page at startup:

sudo nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart

Add the following line at the end of this file:

@chromium-browser --kiosk https://mon_site.com

–kiosk: displays the page in full screen.

If you’re not familiar with “nano”, to save the file press CTRL + O.
Then press ENTER and finally you can exit by pressing CTRL + X.

You can reboot.
