Context

I installed Home Assistant on my server with Docker.
I made it publicly accessible through my reverse proxy.

Problem

When logging in, this error appears in the logs:

ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.http.forwarded] A request from a reverse proxy was received from 192.168.96.1, but your HTTP integration is not set-up for reverse proxies

Solution

You need to go to Home Assistant’s configuration files, to the ‘configuration.yaml’ file.
You need to add this:

# Accept reverse proxies
http:
  use_x_forwarded_for: true
  trusted_proxies:
    - 192.168.96.0/24
